Asunción, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MTESS) makes available to citizens the new Social Security Guide for Salaried Workers in the Private Sector, with the aim of providing workers and the general public with clear and accessible information regarding the benefits of being affiliated with the social security system.
The guide, prepared by professionals from the General Directorate of Social Security of the MTESS, is presented as a fundamental tool for the promotion of culture in social security, in a context in which information and education play a crucial role in the expansion of coverage of access to medical assistance and ensuring income for workers.
The material clarifies general concepts regarding social security and explains in a simple way the characteristics of the current regime in the country, the retirement and pension structure, the set of benefits and benefits in favor of members of a fund, its operation, important information when starting to contribute for retirement, how contributions to the Social Security Institute are distributed, how and where to make payments, among other aspects of interest for both workers and employers.
