Early this morning, a new convoy of tanker trucks left for the Paraguayan Chaco, within the framework of Operation “Y Jeroja II”.

“We are carrying 270,000 liters of water in 20 tanker trucks and we completed a total of 20 shipments,” reported the Minister of National Defense, Oscar González, in an interview with Telefuturo.

With the shipment made to date, the Government completes some 6,800,000 liters of water to try to alleviate the complicated situation that is registered in the Western region.

“It is an unusual day because we usually go out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but today, Saturday, we are making a great effort to respond to specific needs that were asked of us,” González said.

The Secretary of State admitted that there are many needs in the Western region, which for several months has been facing a pressing drought and lack of significant rain.
