Muscat: The Sharjah-Muscat bus service will start from February 27, Oman’s national transport company, Muwasalat, has announced. In January, Oman’s national transport company reached an agreement with the Sharjah Road and Transport Authority to start service on the Muscat-Sharjah route.
The bus route is arranged in such a way that it reaches Sharjah from Muscat via Shinas. The ticket price will be 10 Oman Rial for one way. It can carry 7 kg hand bag and 23 kg luggage. Officials informed that ticket booking has started through Muwasalat’s direct online booking platform. Tickets will also be available through outlets at bus stations in both countries.
Daily services start from Asaiba station in Muscat to Jubail bus station in Sharjah. Special routes will also be allowed to speed up border procedures. It aims to expand the international bus transport network between Oman and the United Arab Emirates, improve the tourism development between the two countries and provide better transportation facilities for passengers. Currently Muwasalat is providing service to Abu Dhabi.
