A new section of Shuvalovsky Prospekt was opened for traffic in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg. The road connected Kamyshovaya and Planernaya streets.

The complex facility was completed ahead of schedule – in a year and a half, the mayor emphasized. He noted that the new road is not only a highway with 4-6 traffic lanes, but also a bridge across the Glukharka River, 135 meters long. There are sidewalks and a bike path, lighting, traffic lights and noise screens.
It is expected that the highway connecting the two parts of the Primorsky District will improve the traffic situation in the new quarters, including unloading the exit from the WHSD on Bogatyrsky Prospekt and adjacent streets, and will allow motorists to significantly save time. In Smolny, they reminded that earlier drivers had to overcome more than 4 km along busy streets in order to drive from Shuvalovskaya interchange to the end of Bogatyrsky Prospekt. Now this path will be reduced by almost four times. The new section of Shuvalovsky Prospekt goes directly to the exit of the same name from the WHSD.
“Primorsky district is the most densely populated. Over 10 years, the number of inhabitants here has grown by 200 thousand people. Today, 700 thousand Petersburgers live here. Transport infrastructure should correspond to the number of residents,” Beglov said.
The construction of new sections of Shuvalovsky Prospekt remains in the immediate plans of Smolny. The St. Petersburg Targeted Investment Program has already included the design and construction of a segment from Komendantsky Prospekt to Parashutnaya Street. It should be handed over in 2025. This highway should also come to an interchange with the future M-32 highway and Primorskoye Highway.
In May of this year, the labor movement was opened along the overpass congresses near the Lakhta Center. It is also planned to open the Novaya Lakhta railway platform with an underpass.
Smolny also decided to allocate regarding 14 billion rubles for road infrastructure in Shushary. The budget for the next three-year plan includes funding for the construction of Novgorodsky Prospekt from Vilerovsky Lane to Pushkinskaya Street (6.7 billion rubles), the Shusharskaya road from Novgorodsky to Vitebsky Prospekt (more than 1 billion rubles) and the reconstruction of Novgorodsky Prospekt from Pushkinskaya Street to Shusharskaya Road ( more than 6 billion rubles). As “DP” wrote, the annual road repair plan in St. Petersburg was completed by 80% by mid-August.
