ALGIERS – The National Agricultural Mutual Fund (CNMA) announced on Friday the imminent launch of a new product for investors and agricultural operators that will provide insurance for day laborers or seasonal workers who work for short periods of time during the different agricultural seasons.
The new product, called “Agriculture Seasonality”, will be launched through its subsidiary Le Mutualiste and is designed to provide comprehensive protection to seasonal workers in the event of an accident while carrying out agricultural activities, reflecting the mutual benefits of agriculture, according to a press release.
The launch of this new product through the Agricultural Mutual Aid Network “could” coincide with the start of the next 2024-2025 tillage sowing campaign, she said.
The CNMA stressed its importance and explained that the “Seasonal Agriculture” product is part of its fundamental insurance role, aimed at protecting agriculture and ensuring the sustainability of activities related to this strategic sector.
“The sector is characterized by seasonal activities throughout the year, especially during harvest-combination activities, tillage-sowing activities, date picking activities, as well as tree maintenance and olive cultivation activities, which often pose problems of mobilization and the provision of an adequate daily or seasonal workforce”, she noted, assuring that this service will be provided at the level of 70 regional banks and 570 local offices.
The CNMA highlighted the benefits of the product, saying it provides comprehensive workplace accident insurance coverage for seasonal agricultural workers.
She believes the product is also characterised by “flexibility”, accessibility and attractive pricing.
According to his explanation, “Saisonnier Agricole is designed and adapted to the different needs of different agricultural seasons, offering affordable premiums and attractive prices to a broad range of agricultural workers in order to maximize the well-being of the workers while meeting the needs of both investors and farmers.” Farmers.
