New schools receive Apple Distinguished Schools certification in the US

Many people don’t know, but the Apple has a program dedicated to certifying schools that use the company’s products and technologies to boost student education and learning — called Apple Distinguished Schools.

“We believe Apple Distinguished Schools are some of the most innovative schools in the world. They are centers of leadership and educational excellence that demonstrate our vision of exemplary learning environments”, according to the company.

Continuing its expansion around the world, Maçã has now certified new institutions: Lyford Schoolin Texas (which includes its elementary, high school and High School), in addition to 12 public schools in Lenoir County, North Carolina (which includes elementary schools Banks, Moss Hill, Northeast, Northwest, Pink Hill, Southeast, Contentnea-Savannah K-8 School, Frink e Woodingtonin addition to the secondary Kinston, North Lenoir e Early College).

Brent Williams, superintendent of Lenoir County, commented on the distinctions received:

We are excited regarding the Apple School of Distinction designation for 12 of our schools. This honor is an affirmation of the hard work our faculty are dedicating every day to the mission of institutional excellence.

In addition to these institutions, there are Apple Distinguished Schools in the most different parts of the world — which includes the Brazil. Here, according to a survey carried out by Maçã itself in January, there are 24 of them in the following states: Bahia, Goiás, Maranhão, Paraná, Pernambuco e São Paulo.
