New Russian drone strikes in Ukraine

The Russian military launched new drone attacks once morest targets in Ukraine last night. Two groups of Iranian-made Shahed drones were sighted near Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine, the state news agency Ukrinform reported.

“Air alert, two groups of mopeds,” regional military administrator Vitaly Kim wrote on Telegram. Because of their engine noise, the drones are now called “mopeds” by the Ukrainian population. Air alert was sounded throughout the south of the country.

In the course of the day, Russia flew 35 airstrikes, the general staff of the Ukrainian army said in the evening. In particular, Iranian-made Shahed 136 drones were used. All missiles fired by Russia were shot down.

Attack on children’s hospital reported

The army leadership also stated that “the Russian occupiers” had “fired 16 times with multiple rocket launchers”. These attacks were aimed in particular at the children’s hospital in the southern Ukrainian city of Cherson.

It was only on New Year’s Eve that the Russian military launched dozens of drones once morest targets in Ukraine, which fall vertically with their explosive charge at the target. According to the Ukrainian account, all 45 drones were shot down.
