New rumours: 11.1″ and 13″ OLED iPad Pro planned for 2024

Display expert Ross Young shares new details regarding Apple’s alleged plans for the upcoming iPad Pro models. The rumored 14,1″ iPad Pro Young now gives a refusal for 2024, instead Apple should continue to focus on the known display sizes, although they will be slightly larger.

With 11.1″ and 13″ OLED displays, the frame might continue to shrink and the bezels become narrower, although the case size should not change. Apple is currently selling a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display and an 11-inch iPad Pro with a traditional LCD display, as the mini-LED display is still reserved for the higher-end iPad Pro model. With the 2024 update, Apple might once more equip the two iPad Pro models equally.

The last upgrade for both iPad Pro models was in October 2022, when Apple integrated the M2 chip. It is conceivable that Apple will give the new models a better chip in early 2024. Nothing is currently known regarding further improvements. In addition, one should rely directly on OLED displays, a small 11″ iPad Pro with mini-LED will probably not exist.

Other sources such as The Elec and DigiTimes have confirmed that Apple is developing OLED panels for larger devices such as iPads and MacBook models, and that the technology is expected to be operational by 2024.
