Two new routes are being launched at Air France from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. Since this Sunday, October 29, 2023, the company has been offering a new route to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). The pearl of the Emirates will be served daily by Airbus A350-900, in cooperation with Etihad Airways, from Roissy. On Monday, the company will add Raleigh Durham (Caroline du Nord) to its network, with 3 flights per week operated by Boeing 787-9. This will be Air France’s 14th destination in the United States this winter.
Up to 212 flights per week to the United States
The company announces in a press release that winter 2023-2024 will be marked by a 20% increase in capacity in North America compared to 2019: “Air France will operate over the period up to 212 flights per week around 20 destinations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The company will also extend its service to Ottawa (Canada), inaugurated last June and operated by Boeing 787-9, into the winter. “Services to Dallas, Vancouver, Boston and Montreal will be strengthened, with additional frequencies or the use of higher capacity devices,” she specifies.
Further south, Air France announces that it is strengthening its offer to Central and South America with the transition to daily flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and San José (Costa Rica). Service to Bogota (Colombia) will also be provided by Airbus A350-900, allowing an “increase in the capacities offered on this route”.
Regarding Asia, the company will maintain its daily service to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong this winter, and will offer a second flight to Tokyo Haneda: “in total, up to 16 flights per week will be offered this winter to the two airports Tokyoites.” Finally, service to Bangkok (Thailand) will return to a daily rhythm this winter, and up to 10 flights per week during peak periods, in January and February 2024.
The connection with Tel Aviv suspended until October 31 for the moment
Finally, in Africa, service to Nairobi (Kenya) is now daily, and the connection to Dar Es Salam (Tanzania), inaugurated in June 2023 and continued to Zanzibar (Tanzania), will be extended over the winter season. “Due to the security context, flights from/to Niamey (Niger), Bamako (Mali) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) remain suspended until further notice,” specifies Air France. Flights to/from Tel Aviv (Israel) remain suspended until October 31 inclusive.
On medium-haul, the winter season will be marked by the renewal of seasonal connections between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tromsø (Norway, 2 flights per week from October 28, 2023), Rovaniemi (Finland, 3 flights per week from from December 2, 2023, and up to 7 flights per week during the Christmas holidays), Kittila (Finland, 1 flight per week from December 23, 2023) and Innsbruck (Austria, 1 flight per week from December 23, 2023 ).
