New Routes and Expansions: Major US Airlines Launching Fall Season Services

The eight major airlines that operate in the United States are launching new routes for the fall season, reported TravelPulse.

Alaska Airlines, In its constant search to improve its services, it announced that as of November 17, it will expand its service between Yakima and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. In addition, on December 14, it will inaugurate a new route that will connect Los Angeles with Guatemala.

For his part, American Airlines announced the inclusion of new routes, such as the one that will connect Texas with Birmingham, Alabama; as well as routes from Nashville to Gainesville, Florida and from Los Angeles to Eugene, Oregon.

In addition, it will expand service on 10 routes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina, starting December 5, with destinations including Belize City, Cancun, Curaçao, Liberia, Los Cabos, Montego Bay, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, San Juan and St. Croix.

Delta also joins this trend, relaunching service to Curaçao from Atlanta as of December 16, a route that has not been operated since 2010.

United Airlines, For its part, it announced the addition of 127 new non-stop flights for the upcoming college football season, connecting various university cities, such as Ann Arbor, Knoxville and Columbus.

The landscape of low-cost airlines also presents news. Avelo will debut in the Caribbean with flights between Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport and Puerto Rico’s San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport beginning November 15.

Southwest Airlines will offer daily nonstop service between Long Beach, California, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, beginning September 5. Additionally, on October 7, it will offer seasonal Saturday service between Kansas City, Missouri, and Montego Bay, Jamaica, as well as Los Cabos, Mexico.

Spirit Airlines will add a new nonstop route from Charleston, South Carolina, to Las Vegas beginning September 7, operating five times a week. Finally, JetBlue will establish flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport in St. Kitts and Nevis beginning November 2, and from JFK to Belize City, Belize beginning November 6. from December.
