Important investment in road safety
St.Pölten (OTS) – At the intersection of the state roads L 5/L 9 in the area of the eastern entrance to Leopoldsdorf im Marchfeld, traffic safety was significantly increased with the construction of a new roundregarding. Traffic counts have shown that the intersection area is frequented with an average traffic volume of up to 9,000 vehicles per day. In addition, the crossing on the way to school is directly in front of the local elementary school.
The construction work was carried out under total closure by the company Leyrer+Graf Baugesellschaft mbH. The total construction costs for the roundregarding amount to around 720,000 euros, with around 90,000 euros being borne by the state of Lower Austria and around 210,000 euros by the HOFER company, which at the same time has its entrance to the newly built branch. The lion’s share of the costs – around 420,000 euros – is covered by the market town of Leopoldsdorf in Marchfeld.
