New round. Udo Jürgens’ heirs are arguing again.

Udo Jürgens’ children have been in a legal dispute with the late hit star’s manager for years. 2021 was agreed – actually. The Zoff now goes into the next round.

In the dispute over the legacy of hit star Udo Jürgens, there is simply no peace. According to “Bild”, Jürgen’s children from his first marriage – Jenny and John – are fighting with the artist’s former manager, Freddy Burger.

But one following anonther. In 2021, the parties reached an agreement in court. It was regarding what happens to the songs by Udo Jürgens. Also, who earns how much from the music.

It was agreed that the siblings would act as the sole shareholders of Jürgens’ record company. Ex-manager Burger retains the publishing rights to around 1,000 songs. But the solution doesn’t seem to suit Jürgens’ descendants anymore.

Freddy Burger says to the German “Bild”: “The heirs wish to change the situation despite the comparison from 2021” – and he emphasizes: “And thus act once more contrary to the wishes of Udo Jürgens.”

Udo Jürgens settled his inheritance before his death

In his will, the “Bitte mit Sahne” interpreter stipulated that his longtime friend Burger should receive the rights to his music.

But Jürgens’ heirs have already taken action once morest Burger’s plans in the past. In 2018, for example, they obtained a cessation of distribution of the CD “Merci, Udo 2”.

So far, no court has been involved in the current dispute. But following the legal dispute in 2021, John said to “Bild”: “We were able to defend our father’s musical legacy.”

On December 21, 2014, the singer and composer collapsed unconscious while walking in Gottlieben TG. He died of heart failure at the age of 80.
