The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, held, on Wednesday in Rabat, a consultation meeting with the Secretary General of the General Union of Moroccan Workers (UGTM), Naam Miyara, and members of the executive board of the union.
During this meeting, held at the union’s headquarters as part of the discussions and exchanges for the successful implementation of the Royal Project relating to the reform of the health system, the Minister reviewed the main pillars of the project. of framework law n°06-22 relating to the national health system, adopted by the Council of Ministers, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI on July 13 at the Royal Palace in Rabat. These pillars relate in particular to the adoption of good governance, the strengthening of territorial planning of the health offer, the creation of the High Authority for Health, an Agency for Medicines and Health Products and a Blood and Blood Products Agency, the revision of the organization of the central administration, the creation of territorial health groups and the development of human resources by an equitable distribution of hospital services throughout the national territory.
Similarly, Khalid Ait Taleb reaffirmed that this important reform project benefits from the great royal concern, concretized by the Royal Directives aimed at radically rethinking the health system and coupling it with social protection, in particular health coverage, and brings a set of privileges for citizens while attaching great importance to human resources.
In this regard, the Minister welcomed the serious and responsible commitment as well as the effective contribution of the trade union centers to the improvement of the conditions of health workers and the achievement of social peace, reaffirming the commitment of his department to preserve the achievements and his determination to continue to work and cooperate with all the social partners for the improvement of the material and moral conditions of the health personnel.
For his part, Naam Miyara welcomed the approach taken by the Minister of Health and Social Protection during this new round of sectoral social dialogue by visiting the trade union centers in order to consult on the general orientations of the bill- framework and involve them in decisions to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the health system. And to underline that the UGTM interacts in a positive way with the draft framework law and is strongly involved in the success of the implementation of this Royal Project and contribute to all health system reform projects to promote the conditions of health workers serving the interests of citizens and achieving the desired revolution in the sector.
As a reminder, the Minister of Health and Social Protection held a meeting in Casablanca on Monday with the Secretary General and members of the General Secretariat of the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), within the framework of consultations with the trade union centers represented in the sector which will continue in the days to come.
