Specifically, according to the report, the 58-year-old and the “queen of amusement parks” as the owner of the facility in Almyros was called, were exchanging machines, the same machines from which both 19-year-old Yannis and 14-year-old Serina were thrown and died. In 2019, the 14-year-old was hurled 11 meters from an amusement park game, with her death just as instantaneous.

The father of the deceased 19-year-old also added that “all those who are responsible are involved in the responsibilities: from the minister himself, who has not yet taken a position, to the prime minister. In fact, until he left the scene, two and a half months later, it took a chase with the police, local administration and then a legal dispute with the municipality.
On December 15, 2021, according to the report, when the municipality of Thermaikos signed a 60-day lease agreement to install an ice rink and amusement park machines on municipal land in Perea. This particular company, on paper, was in the name of the 58-year-old’s wife. He, however, is said to have been the person who took over the management of the business while appearing in the municipality as the person in charge.
Halkidiki: It operated arbitrarily for months
As revealed by officials of the municipality of Thermaikos, the 58-year-old, after February 12, 2022, when the lease term ended, not only did he not leave, in accordance with what is provided for in the agreement and despite the repeated recommendations of the municipal authority from the first moment, but until Easter of the same year it operated arbitrarily.
For the removal of the Luna Park, the municipality requested the assistance of the Hellenic Police. However, this too was episodic, as, on the one hand, the local government lowered the circuit breakers to interrupt the electricity supply, while on the other hand, the 58-year-old raised them arbitrarily, continuing his normal operation. Secure media reports say that the 58-year-old deployed his own generator on the property to run the games, even as representatives of the municipality brought in an electrician to cut the wires.
The municipality of Thermaikos, in order to ensure the departure of the Luna Park from the plot, followed the legal route. In the minutes posted on the “Clarity” program, the municipal authority appointed a bailiff to issue an administrative expulsion to the company, while at the same time the authorities proceeded to certify a fine for occupying a common area of 2,500 euros and also for the arbitrary reconnection of electricity which, in fact, is expected to to be heard next September.
After the administrative expulsion, however, the company not only did not leave, but went so far as to file an appeal and injunctive measures against the municipality of Thermaikos. The municipal authority then responded with legal means, appointing a lawyer to file a memorandum to refute the appeal, as can be seen in the minutes.
The conditions of the agreement are precisely stated in the minutes and, according to them, the duration of the lease starts from December 15, 2021, the day of its signing, while it expires 60 days later. “After the end of the contractual period of the lease, this lease will be automatically terminated, without any objection, and without any prior disturbance from the lessor to the lessee”, it states. The vision of the management at the time was to install a large amusement park with even more machines and games in the summer of 2022, and if the cooperation with the company in question was good, they would also sign a new agreement. However, the management at the time decided to part ways, seeing unprofessional behavior on the part of the company, conditions that do not inspire the image of a reliable amusement park.
Until the Easter holidays at the end of April 2022, the amusement park continued to operate with the same method. It was then forced out, with the municipality abandoning any thoughts of a summer amusement park.
