It was quite a surprise during SmackDown this Friday, June 9th. Not because a new belt was unveiled during the blue show because we told you that was in the plans, but because it’s the turn of the RAW Women’s Championship to have a new belt in addition to a new name.
Adam Pearce unveiled this new belt in front of Asuka, the champion who no longer appears to be the RAW Women’s Champion and thus becomes the WWE Women’s Champion.
As of now, WWE has made no announcement regarding the other Smackdown Women’s Championship which is on RAW owned by Reah Ripley.
Another surprise awaited the fans. Charlotte Flair thus made her return following being absent for another two months and came directly to ask for a championship match once morest Asuka, Adam Pearce gave her this gift for the episode of SmackDown on June 30, i.e. for the last show before Money in the Bank, which did not have more to Bianca Belair behind the scenes who had just asked her for her return match.
WWE had had two Women’s Tag Team Championships for some time, one for the main roster as well as a second for NXT. Remember that WWE’s might be defended in its NXT debut, and that it had rarely been done. Now the decision seems to be made to unify the two titles.
It was all confirmed during SmackDown this Friday June 9 that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, main roster tag team champions, will face lba Fyre and Isla Dawn, NXT tag team champions drafted on SmackDown a little over a month ago. .
This meeting will take place in two weeks on SmackDown and will therefore unify the tag team belts.
