The February 2023 Nintendo Direct had some surprises in store for us. And among them, the return of a beloved teacher is probably one of the most heartening. Hershel Layton returns to service, in a game titled Professor Layton and The New World of Steamwhich will come out on Nintendo Switch. On the other hand, no release date has not yet been mentioned.
If it is difficult to get an exact idea of the content of the game following seeing this very short first trailer, we can however say that the Professor Layton finds himself back in the spotlight, having been replaced by his daughter Katrielle for some time. On the other hand, no information was given concerning his young assistant of always, Luke Triton.
If you have never touched the license, which was a great success on Nintendo DS, Professor Layton games are riddles and puzzle games, in which our hero, an accomplished archaeologist, solves different cases in a given location. All in one gameplay point’n’click.
For this new opus, we believe we can distinguish a retrofuturistic London, in which steam seems to play an important role, by being able to hide certain elements from our sight, or by being put into action in puzzles. What is certain is that the artistic direction promises to be particularly neat and pretty.
Professor Layton and the New Word of Steam will be released on Nintendo Switch, on an unknown date.
