New professional training programs from today in Larissa and Korydallos prisons

From today, Monday, September 2, they start in Larissa and Korydallos two new professional training programs of DYPA for unemployed and prisoners respectively.

Specifically, as stated in a DYPA announcement, at Larissa program will be implemented in “Cutting-Sewing” duration of 250 hours, in order for the trainees to acquire basic technical knowledge and skills in the design and creation of linen patterns, to recognize the technical specifications of sewing machines, to describe the principles of packaging and to define production processes.

This program was designed at the request of the Association of Thessalian Enterprises and Industries (STHEB) and will train 15 unemployed people aged 18-60, graduates of at least compulsory education, permanent residents of the Regional Unit of Thessaly. The action will be held live at the premises of the company “Bettina” – Knitting Products ABEE, based in the Industrial Area of ​​Larissa. The trainees will receive an educational allowance of 2.50 euros net per hour of training, while they will be covered by medical care throughout the duration of the training.

Regarding the program “Building Maintainers” which will be implemented in Korydallos Penitentiarywill be 250 hours long and 25 inmates will be trained to recognize building material technology, perform corrective maintenance-repair operations, apply appropriate repair techniques to plumbing and electromechanical installations, and perform simple carpentry and construction work using appropriate tools and materials.
