In which formation did the new players (rookies and neo-pros) weigh the most in performance during the Ligue 1 Uber Eats season?

Only one player discovering a new team in 2022/23 has played the entire 38 days of Ligue 1 Uber Eats: Montassar Talbi (3420 minutes). The Tunisian defender, recruited last summer by the Merlus, illustrates the importance that the new players had for the Breton club, 10th in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats ranking. In fact, rookies and beginners – i.e. players who were not part of the team in 21/22 – accumulated 48% of playing time at FC Lorient, ie the 5th highest total in the elite.

Regarding the number of tenures granted to newcomers, five teams reached 200 over the 38 days of 22/23: namely Angers (236 tenures), Auxerre (228), OM (215), Clermont (214) and Montpellier (200).

With 19 goalscorers different, the 2nd highest total since 1947/48 (ASM, 20 in 15/16), OM have seen 11 “new” players find their way to the net this season: Sanchez Tavares (6), Mbemba (5), Veretout (4), Suarez (3), Vitinha, Clauss, Gigot (2), Ounahi, Kaboré and Malinovskyi (1).

An efficiency record over the season, even ahead of OL and their “General” Lacazette who scored 27 goals, the best among rookies 22/23, allowing Les Gones to share 2nd place in the standings with RC Lens, OGC Nice and Stade Rennais (33 goals). Stade de Reims (28) with Balogun and Toulouse FC from Dallinga (27) come just behind.
