new plastic bottle collection cages in Libreville –

On Saturday March 18, on the occasion of the celebration of World Recycling Day, the company Sofavin Gabon and The Coca-Cola Company in partnership with Clean Africa, the High Commission for the Environment and Quality of Life, the Directorate General for the Environment and the Protection of Nature and the Town Hall of Libreville have joined their efforts to make and place cages for collecting plastic bottles throughout the city of Libreville in order to recycle them.

This celebration was an opportunity for Sofavin Gabon to mark its civic and environmental commitment in relation to waste management, in particular plastic waste.

The initiative is in line with the overall objective set by The Coca-Cola Company, namely: to collect and recycle the equivalent of each of the bottles or cans that it will market around the world by 2023. .

In an effort to fight once morest the plastic pollution that Gabon is facing, in particular the unsanitary conditions of the beaches and the increase in the understanding of the populations on the harmful effects of the plastic thrown into the environment, the objective of this partnership is to meet this challenge, by making these collection cages available to the community where they can deposit PET bottles of all sizes which can be collected in complete safety with Clean Africa’s partner before being transported and recovered to appropriate centers waste treatment.

Indeed 10 cages have been placed on certain beaches such as those of the Lycée National Léon MBA, the Lycée Paul INDJENDJET GONDJOUT to name but a few because young people are the best ally in the construction of a more sustainable ecosystem for the environment. The good habits young people develop today will forge a healthier tomorrow.
