CWith an investment of $270 million, more than 950,000 kilometers of testing, and over 500 units assessed, Peugeot officially commenced production of the new 2008 at the El Palomar Plant just over a month ago, also starting the pre-sale phase. The second generation of the B-SUV has now been unveiled at an event held at the Innovation Park in Buenos Aires, emphasizing the vehicle’s innovative and technological characteristics.

Here are its main features:
What’s new:
This is the second generation of the B-SUV that joins the El Palomar plant’s production line, sharing the CMP platform with the recently updated 208. Aesthetically, it appears similar to its European counterpart, with minimal modifications that are barely noticeable. Influenced by its larger variants, the 3008 and 5008, as well as the new 308, its more angled headlights with LED projectors stand out. The LED “fangs” for daytime running lights are retained, now designed as three claws, enclosed within a sporty air intake. The grille features a structure akin to the aforementioned models and incorporates the brand’s new logo. On the sides, the design of the alloy wheels, the two-tone body with a black roof, the mirror housing, and the GT emblems stand out. Finally, at the rear, the internal three-dimensional design of the headlights is striking.
Inside, the style closely resembles that of the 208, with slight modifications, such as the updated i-Cockpit digital instrument panel featuring new graphics and a new 10” touchscreen for the multimedia system, which now supports remote updates and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel controls have also been redesigned, and additional colors have been introduced into the ambient lighting system. The GT version features mixed leather and fabric upholstery with green and white stitching. It boasts comprehensive safety equipment, including driving assistance systems starting from the Allure version.
Dimensions:
4,308 mm in length, 1,992 mm in width (with mirrors), 1,543 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,612 mm. The trunk capacity is 419 litres, and the fuel tank capacity is 47 litres.
Versions:
Initially, the B-SUV will be offered in three versions (Active, Allure, and GT), all sharing the same mechanics.
Comfort equipment:
The Active version includes automatic climate control, a multimedia system with a 10” touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a multifunction steering wheel, an electric handbrake, 2D digital instrumentation, a 180º reversing camera, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, LED headlights, rear parking sensors, fabric/leather upholstery, and 17” diamond-finished alloy wheels.
The Allure version adds 360º view cameras, front parking sensors, a key with hands-free access and start, a wireless charger, power-folding mirrors, and 17” diamond-finished alloy wheels.
The GT version features steering wheel paddles, GT-specific customization, a panoramic roof with electric opening, 3D digital instrumentation, GT leather upholstery, two-tone bodywork, Full LED headlights, and 17” alloy wheels with a diamond finish.
Safety equipment:
The entire lineup includes 6 airbags (front, side front, and curtain), ABS/EBD/BA brakes, traction control, stability control, a tire pressure sensor, a rear fog light, and Isofix/Top Tether anchors. Starting from the Allure version, it also offers collision risk warning, blind spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high beams, fatigue detection, and speed limit reading and indication.
Mechanics:
All versions are powered by the T200 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder inline petrol engine with chain distribution, producing 120 hp at 5,750 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm, paired with a CVT automatic transmission with 7 simulated speeds.

The grille also incorporates the brand’s new logo and is designed similarly to the larger models mentioned.
On the sides, the attention to detail can be seen in the alloy wheels, and the attractive two-tone body with a black roof, accentuating the GT emblems. The rear design features a distinct three-dimensional look to the taillights.
Inside, the Peugeot 2008 takes design cues from the 208, featuring an upgraded i-Cockpit digital instrument panel with enhanced graphics, a new 10” touchscreen for the multimedia system, which supports remote updates, in addition to both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
