New patrol boats were delivered in Paraguarí and Misiones to reinforce security

Asunción, IP Agency.- In the governorates of Paraguarí and Misiones, the delivery of 10 patrol cars in each department took place this Friday, as part of the distribution of the 250 mobile phones acquired for the National Police. The cell phones will serve to reinforce patrols and security in several districts.

In Paraguarí, the delivery of the 10 patrol boats was led by the Minister of the Interior Enrique Riera, the Vice Minister of Internal Security, Oscar Pereira and the Governor Norma Zárate de Monges, as well as the Deputy Commander of the National Police and other departmental and national authorities.

In Misiones, the Government representative was the Vice Minister of Political Affairs, Oscar Campuzano, who with local and national authorities highlighted the importance of the delivery of the 10 patrol boats for the 10 districts of the department.

“What we all want is for the institutions to help each other because, as the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, clearly said, without security there is no investment and without investment there is no development,” said Vice Minister Campuzano. “What the Government intends is to create security conditions for investment,” he added.

The vice minister highlighted that through the historic investment that the government is making in security, by the end of the year there will be “5,000 new police officers for the first time in decades.”

He also announced that “in a few more days we will have almost 10,000 bulletproof vests” to provide better conditions for agents in the fulfillment of their duty to “improve the quality of life of all Paraguayan citizens.”

“This is being done largely thanks to President Peña who has had the political will to provide infrastructure to the department’s Police, it is a historic fact,” said the governor of Misiones, Richard Ramírez, at the event.
