NEW ORLEANS, La.– The New Orleans Privateers (3-4) return Tuesday night to Lakefront Arena as they host Belhaven College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and admission is free for students. The game will air on ESPN+ and NASH ICON 106.1 with Jude Young on the call.

New Orleans split their last two contests capturing their first non-conference road win once morest UCA in Conway, Arkansas Sunday, November 26. Last Thursday, the Privateers dropped a mid-week contest at Minnesota, in which both Khaleb Wilson-Rouse and Jordan Johnson led in double-figures.
Wilson-Rouse scored 19 points, three steals, and two assists and behind him, Johnson put up 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Jamond Vincent also chipped in seven points off the bench. The starting lineup consisted of Wilson-Rouse, Johnson, Mason Jones, and D’Ante Bell over the last two contests.
Johnson is leading the Privateers in scoring (22.4) and assists (4.0) while shooting .362 percent
from deep (21-of-58). The Memphis native ranks 7th in scoring in the NCAA and first among Southland Conference schools. He has scored 20+ points in four out of seven games and double figures in all seven games to include his 31-point game at Loyola Chicago. Johnson is nearing 1,000 career points with 971.
Wilson-Rouse averages 11.4 points per game and leads the team in steals (2.4). The Chicago native also leads the conference in that category and ranks 27th nationally. He scored a career-high 22 points and matched a career-high eight steals in the win over UCA.
Jamond Vincent, who has started five out of seven games, averages 7.6 points and leads the Privateers in rebounds (5.7). Vincent had a season-high 13 points once morest SUNO and nine rebounds once morest Millsaps.
D’Ante Bell started all seven games and put up a season-high nine points once morest Millsaps while grabbing a career-high 12 boards once morest North Dakota.
Tyson Jackson will play his first home game tomorrow night and is averaging 6.4 points per game. He put up a season-high 15 points at Oklahoma State.
Through seven games, eight Privateers have scored in double figures at least once, two put up double-figures in boards, and one Privateer (Jah Short) has recorded a double-double.
New Orleans remains among the top schools in turnovers forced per game (18.57) sitting at #5 in the NCAA. The Privateers are scoring 79.4 points per game and shooting .767 percent from the foul line in comparison to their opponents at .641 percent. The Privateers are scoring 20.6 points off turnovers and averaging 10.4 steals per game.
A win over Belhaven would improve the Privateers’ record to 4-4 and up their home record to 3-0.
SCOUTING THE BELHAVEN BLAZERS
Belhaven is coming off of a win at home over the Centenary Gents last Monday.
Judah Jordan (21 pts, 6 ast) and Jermario Hersey (16 pts, 4 rebs) led the Blazers in double figures. Jordan Marshall ranks 4th in the NCAA DIII Collegiate Conference of the South with 16.5 points per game. Jacob Reese sits atop the CCS in rebounding average at 11.5 boards per game.
SERIES WITH THE BELHAVEN BLAZERS
This game marks the third all-time meeting between the two teams and the first time since New Year’s Eve 2021 in New Orleans. Three Privateers tied for the lead in scoring as Tyson Jackson, Derek St. Hilaire and D’Ante Bell paced New Orleans with 11 points apiece, respectively. Jackson added four rebounds and an assist, St. Hilaire chipped in four assists, two rebounds and a steal and Bell added two boards, a helper and a rebound.
New Orleans is 2-0 once morest Belhaven having hosted the Blazers in both meetings.
