And precisely, Apple has also announced something new on the side of the Fitness application already present for a while on the iPhone. The latter now allows the monitoring of activities provided, however, that you have an Apple Watch. But, with iOS 16, this will change, and an activity tracking option will be offered to those who do not have a connected watch.

Concretely, this tool will work using the movement sensors of the iPhone which is able to measure the number of steps taken, as well as your different training sessions and an estimate of the number of calories burned.

There is no doubt that this novelty will appeal to all those who do not intend to buy an Apple Watch but would like to be able to follow and count their physical efforts on a daily basis. Final detail unveiled by our colleagues from MacRumorsthe Fitness+ option will not be available for those who do not have an Apple Watch.
