New oil and gas deposits discovered in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Business & Economy

Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) has discovered new oil and gas reserves during drilling in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These deposits have been discovered in Razgir One Exploratory.

Pakistan Oil Fields Limited is a subsidiary of Attock Oil Company Limited, UK and its parent company is Coral Holding Company. POL mentioned this achievement in a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

Drilling started on January 9, 2024 and drilling has been done up to 3950 meters. This was announced by MOL Group, a multinational oil and gas company headquartered in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

POL has said that through the drill steam test, the capacity of extracting 20 million cubic feet of gas and 250 barrels of oil per day from the well was assessed. Wellhead pressure is 2348 psi. The company says testing operations are underway to assess the true potential of the well. Actual production may differ from results of testing operations.
