New OGC recruit, Valentin Rosier expected in Nice this Wednesday

Le Gym and Besiktas reached an agreement, on the evening of Tuesday January 16, for the loan with option to purchase Valentin Rosier, until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old full-back flew from Turkey this Wednesday morning to undergo his medical examination in Nice, before officially signing up for the red and black jersey straight away.

After Mohamed-Ali Cho, he is the second recruit in the Nice winter transfer window.

An increasingly intense player

If the native of Montauban revealed himself in Dijon between 2016 and 2019, he had launched his professional career just before at Rodez.

In National, he played around thirty matches at the time and made his mark in the right lane of defense, before asserting himself a little more in Dijon from 2016.

In Burgundy, Rosier discovered Ligue 1 and gained experience. He even made his first selections for the French Espoirs Team but missed Euro 2019 due to injury, before heading abroad.

Sporting Portugal then bought him for 5 million euros, but the adventure did not go as planned in Lisbon.

It was finally in Turkey that he found playing time again and seemed to be turning a corner. In Besiktas, in a warm atmosphere and with a very successful 2020-2021 season (cup and championship double).

First loaned then purchased (summer 2022), Rosier became a more intense player on the banks of the Bosphorus (126 appearances, 6 goals and 18 assists in all competitions in 3 years).
