For the new model year, Land Rover has given its luxury SUV Range Rover more engine power and optimized technologies. The two plug-in hybrids were given a new 160 kW electric motor. In combination with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, the output of both variants increased from 324 kW to 338 kW (460 hp) for the “smaller” version, and from 375 kW to 405 kW (550 hp) for the version now known as the P550e.
At the same time, both models now accelerate purely electrically from 0 to 100 km/h in a smooth five seconds. And the part-time electric vehicles were also able to increase their range, and according to WLTP they should now be able to travel up to 121 kilometers purely electrically, eight kilometers more than before. In everyday use, this should correspond to a range of 94 kilometers.
There is also news for the top engines: the 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo petrol engine is available for the first time with mild hybrid technology in the form of a belt starter generator, which recuperates the energy that would otherwise dissipate when braking or decelerating. On the other hand, the eight-cylinder unit in the Range Rover SV is available in an even more powerful version: as the P615 with an output of 615 hp (452 kW) and a maximum torque of 750 Nm.
The increase in power is accompanied by optimized technology, such as an improved Pivi Pro infotainment system, the latest generation of Dynamic Response Pro roll stabilization or a “Country Road Assist”, which adjusts the cruise control according to the curve and the speed limit. The adaptive off-road cruise control, which is available for the first time, works in a similar way, automatically setting the right speed for the surface within four comfort programs even in demanding terrain.
The 2024 model year of the Range Rover can now be configured and ordered at www.landrover.de. The price list starts at 135,800 euros.
