Authorities from the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) announced a new module for the ration book that includes straws, spaghetti and cookies. More details below.

On July 30, before the beginning of August, which begins today, the MINCIN detailed on its website that the process of distributing rice began at the port of Carúpano, in Las Tunas, to complete the July allocation of the basic basket in Camagüey and other provinces in eastern Cuba.

This shipment will ensure the two additional pounds needed to reach seven pounds per capita. Currently, the rice is being received in warehouses in the city of Camagüey and will soon be extended to other municipalities.

As for other basic food basket products, 10 ounces of peas have been distributed, although coffee and beans have not yet been delivered.

For the month of August, 100% of deliveries for social consumption are reportedly guaranteed. In addition, the distribution of two pounds of sugar is planned, along with five pounds of rice at an affordable price and two additional pounds of rice free of charge.

The news was the announcement of the delivery of a “new” MINCIN module for the ration book for underweight children. What will they give in August, according to Cuban executives? Without giving a delivery date, they detailed in their official note: “In the In the next few days, the distribution of a module for children will begin underweight containing sherbet, pasta and biscuits.”

In mid-July of this year, Idalmi Martínez Pérez, Head of Sales for the Food Group, announced that, in addition to the products in the family basket (which never arrive on time), a differentiated module for children with low weight and height.

This module will include one kilogram of pasta, one kilogram of biscuits, four packets of sherbet and one litre of syrup. Apparently, the quantity will not be the same in all provinces.

“Does anyone understand this module, which is not suitable for diabetics or children, and is loaded with sugar and carbohydrates, and does not improve anyone’s weight, much less a child?” they asked on social media.
