The former deputy of the French of Switzerland of La République En Marche, Joachim Son-Forget, has just taken his card at UDC Geneva. Through a Facebook post, the radiologist by profession established in Geneva for several years and a Swiss citizen explains that his membership is “without electoral pretensions at this stage”, indicates «Blick».
This transfer to the SVP is in line with his change of political ideas. First an activist in the Socialist Party at the start of his career, he was elected to the National Assembly in 2017 under the banner of Emmanuel Macron’s party. He then branched off to Eric Zemmour’s far-right “Reconquest” party in 2022, whose candidacy for the presidential election he supported, but was not re-elected in the legislative elections.
Contacted by “Blick”, Joachim Son-Forget explains that his membership of the UDC has “more interest” than that of the Geneva Citizens Movement (MCG), because “the UDC does not have the same xenophobic and simplistic character than the MCG.” He also adds that the way of doing politics in Switzerland is “healthier” than in France, because “opposing sides manage to find common ground.”
