The children and youth rehabilitation kokon in Rohrbach-Berg has a new medical director in Robert Weinzettel.
The 55-year-old pediatrician, pediatric cardiologist and specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine would like to continue the work of his predecessor Evelyn Lechner in his new position and, together with the multi-professional team, further develop child and youth rehabilitation. “It’s nice to see the high quality of rehabilitation for young people here. The relevance of child and youth rehabilitation has now arrived in the health care of young people. It was understood: children are not young adults. They have to deal with their own needs and requirements are perceived and dealt with holistically in an appropriate setting,” says Weinzettel.
He would like to further advance the evolution of the kokon Rohrbach-Berg and further develop the rehabilitation facility. He is convinced that the integrative, holistic care of the young patients is essential for the success of the treatment. The physician with two specialist trainings – paediatrics with additional subject pediatric cardiology as well as anesthesiology and intensive care medicine – was until 2020 cardiological head of the child and youth rehabilitation center Wildbad Einöd. Before he switched to the rehabilitation sector, he ran his own election and health insurance office.
