This Tuesday, December 26, a new medical center opens in Martinique. It is located at the entrance to the Pierre Zobda Quitman hospital in Fort-de-France.
After a 3-year project, the La Meynard medical center finally opens this Tuesday. The modular construction offers all the comfort and safety necessary for welcoming patients.
The structure is located at the entrance to the hospital, near the security gate. It now replaces the care center which was located next to the emergency room.
Doctor René Virassamy, president of the Martinique Liberal Care Association, explains how this new space works.
Patients must absolutely, in any case it is strongly recommended, dial 15 in order to sort the sick because there is no question that we can receive extremely vital emergencies such as heart attacks, major strokes, etc. … Patients must understand that before going to a medical center, they must generally dial 15.

With this new infrastructure, healthcare professionals hope to welcome patients in optimal conditions.
Regarding the reception mode, we have planned two rooms. A first reception room intended for visitors and a second waiting room intended for patients so as not to burden or mix everyone up. Of course, mothers and fragile people will always be accompanied in the waiting room. But, we still planned a first airlock to relieve congestion.

The equipment at the CHUM Medical Center meets the needs of people with disabilities.
The law requires us to think regarding it. Therefore, we designed a PRM reception area for wheelchairs.
Patients will be welcomed into the medical center from this Tuesday, December 26 at 7 p.m.
