The building owner, Raiffeisenbank Region Eferding, invited people to the official groundbreaking ceremony. “We are investing around 3.5 million euros in the sustainable building and want to give something back to the region,” said Christian Schönhuber, CEO of Raiffeisenbank Region Eferding. The regional bank has already invested in health centers in Eferding, Hartkirchen and St. Marienkirchen, among others. Such projects are not always the most profitable, but are important for the people in the region, emphasized Schönhuber.
After the retirement of general practitioner Herbert Hörtenhuber, the maintenance of a general practice will also be secured. Yesterday, however, the names of the (specialist) doctors and therapists who will be moving into the Humanum with 820 m² of usable space were not yet announced – due to ongoing negotiations and existing employment relationships. A general practitioner who was in discussion dropped out again. The rooms on the first and second floors have already been taken.
Mayor Monika Weberberger-Rainer (SP) is pleased about the successful cooperation between those involved. “Since I’ve been active in politics, succession has always been an issue for our family doctors Aumayr and Hörtenhuber.”
The health center will be built directly on Eferdinger Straße next to the local Raiffeisenbank. The landowner is the Hörtenhuber family, who concluded a building rights contract.
The building was designed by architect Georg Kraus. “The name Humanum contains humanity and care. It is important to me that patients, doctors and therapists feel that they are in good hands,” said Kraus. When it comes to coloring, he uses salmon-red metal cladding as an accent to the natural wood, which is intended to symbolize human vulnerability.
