New Mansoura teacher: “My husband divorced me and my house was destroyed”

She added that the video caused the destruction of her house and the destruction of her life, wondering regarding the guilt she committed to face this fate.

The Egyptian teacher also appealed to everyone to leave her alone following she lost her married life and her job because of the video, stressing that she lost everything beautiful because of dishonest behavior of someone who was with them on the trip. She emphasized that she would not forgive him at all, because of the harm he had caused her, and they would pursue her until the end of her life.

It is noteworthy that the incident sparked controversy in Egypt, following the authorities decided to refer teachers, including Aya, who previously won the title of ideal teacher, to the prosecution and interrogate them for circulating a video of a dance during a Nile cruise.

And the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Dakahlia, Ali Abdel Raouf, decided to refer 5 teachers in the West Mansoura Educational Administration to the Administrative Prosecution, following investigating them in the legal affairs of the directorate for participating in a dance link on an indigo boat during a trip organized by the Teachers Syndicate in West Mansoura.

This came following the agent received several complaints from teachers, attached to a CD that included a video boycott of the “dancing” teachers!

The complainants also considered that the union honored this teacher following the trip, and gave her the title of the ideal teacher. Pictures of honor were circulated with pictures and dance clips, which offended the prestige of the teacher and the sanctity of the educational process, according to them.

Investigations revealed that the teacher, who works on the volunteer system at Khaled bin Al-Walid Primary School, performed a compass of municipal dance to the tunes of a DJ on a Nile boat.

The director of secondary education in the West Mansoura Educational Administration, and a social studies teacher at the school, in addition to an agricultural teacher at Al-Shaheed Ahmed Hussein Ghoneim Secondary School for Girls, and a primary mathematics teacher also participated in this dance link.

The clip also recorded a woman’s voice encouraging competition between an Arabic language teacher with another, and she was also referred for investigation.

The incident sparked outrage, as some demanded accountability for the video footage and its publication without permission. A number of tweeters also sympathized with the teacher, considering what she did not deviate from the framework of personal freedom.

While others denounced her behavior, they considered publishing the video and filming it without her knowledge as a violation of her privacy, a behavior for which the law is held accountable!
