Jeddah: The new Lulu Hypermarket in Jeddah has opened in Al Rawabi. Jeddah and Makkah Provincial Mayor Salih Al-Turki inaugurated the event in the presence of Lulu Group Chairman MA Yousafali and other dignitaries. Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Secretary General Ramez M. Al Ghalib also inaugurated the store. It is the seventh hypermarket in the Jeddah region, the 27th in Saudi Arabia and the 233rd globally.

The new hypermarket will cover an area of ​​1,68,000 square feet. The new hypermarket will feature food and vegetables grown in Saudi Arabia, fruits, vegetables, Red Sea fish, locally grown lamb, Saudi coffee and Saudi-grown mangoes. Another key feature of the hypermarket is the ever-popular Lulu Hot Food section, which showcases the culinary skills of Saudi women chefs. These women chefs prepare a selection of local delicacies from Saudi Arabia. This is part of the empowerment of Saudi women. The specially designed Saudi Coffee Stall includes sales of Saudi-grown coffee beans, samples, and conversations regarding the country’s coffee traditions.

The hypermarket has all the features to make shopping easier for customers, including a dedicated parking space for 427 cars and a green checkout and e-receipt facility. The eco-friendly paperless billing system has also been introduced in the new hypermarket.

The ‘Win a Dream Home’ grand raffle draw will be held in conjunction with the inauguration. The winners will receive an apartment and 30 lucky customers will receive prizes worth half a million riyals, including Lulu gift vouchers worth 5,000 riyals. The prize scheme will be available at all Lulu hypermarkets in the Jeddah area.

Yusufali said the Lulu Group would do everything possible to support this and thanked King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi government for their support for Saudi expansion.

As part of the group’s commitment to support Saudi progress and development goals, Lulu currently employs more than 3,200 Indigenous people, including 1,000 women. Lulu Management said it expects to employ 4,000 locals by the end of this year and 5,000 by the end of 2023 to empower the country’s youth for future growth and training.
