New lead in the Maddie McCann case

This is reported by the English newspaper “The Sun”. The vehicle is said to have belonged to the main German suspect Christian B. B. is said to have been driving such a sprinter in Portugal at the time of the then three-year-old Maddie’s disappearance. The vehicle is said to have been parked on B.’s property. It is currently unclear whether the vehicle is from Portugal.

The investigators from the Federal Criminal Police Office are now looking for DNA traces of the missing girl on the vehicle. The suspect is said to have rented a vehicle from a Braunschweig car dealership between 2014 and 2015. According to The Sun, the landlords said the vehicle was cleaned and repaired at the time. “All of the DNA was not removed from the vehicle,” an employee at the car dealership told the British newspaper.

“Driven through Europe”

An acquaintance of Christian B. is said to have confirmed that B. drove such a car. “He drove it around Europe and even took a girlfriend with him to Portugal and Spain,” The Sun quoted the anonymous source as saying.

In 2007, Madeleine McCann, then three years old, disappeared in Portugal. After the disappearance, the girl’s parents first came into the focus of investigators. They have not been listed as suspects since 2008.

The main suspect, Christian B., is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence. He is serving time for raping a 72-year-old woman. The attack occurred not far from where Maddie disappeared. Child pornographic material was also found on the now 47-year-old German. Another case is currently underway once morest B. He is accused of rape in three cases and child abuse in two cases.
