New iPhone 15 USB-C and Apple Watches

Like every September, Apple organizes its annual event devoted largely to its popular iPhone. This year, the tech giant is unveiling its latest iPhone 15 lineup, as well as new versions of the Apple Watch.

Apple has just announced the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, and the big news is a USB-C port widely used on other “Apple” products. The iPhone 15 is now the first iPhone to switch to this USB-C standard also imposed by the European Union.

With prices obviously in American currency, the iPhone 15 is priced from $799 for a 128 GB model, and the iPhone 15 Plus from $899 for a 128 GB version. Both models will be available on September 22, and pre-orders will begin this Friday. The phone is available in yellow, green, blue, black and pink.

Aesthetically, the design isn’t entirely new for the iPhone 15, this year’s largely resembles the iPhone 14 that came before it, with the iPhone 15 continuing to use a 6.1-inch screen .

All iPhone 15 models will also feature Dynamic Island. This is the pill-shaped cutout that debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max and allows you to see certain notifications and interact with apps. The iPhone 15 also features a DELo Super Retina display, which supports Dolby Vision content with 1600 nits brightness. The maximum brightness of this screen is 2000 nits in direct sunlight, double that of the iPhone 14.

Better photographic ability

The most notable improvement in the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, aside from the visible USB-C and dynamic island changes, is an improved camera system. The main camera sensor increases to 48 megapixels, up from 12 megapixels on the iPhone 14. There’s also a 12 megapixel telephoto lens, and improvements to portrait mode mean you’ll no longer have to manually switch to portrait mode.

Apple is also improving Night Mode, Live Photos, and Action Mode in the iPhone 15 camera. And if you’re a fan of selfies, the front camera has autofocus and portrait lighting.

A16 system chip

Inside the iPhone 15, Apple is also upgrading the A16 chip, the same one found in last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models. Apple also promises “all-day battery life” with the iPhone 15 thanks to a larger battery. iPhone 15 also includes a second-generation UltraWide Band chip, just like the new Apple Watch Series 9. This chip improves connectivity with other devices further away and enables precision searching within the app Locate, so you can more easily find your friends if they have the latest iPhone 15 models.

Apple’s presentation started with the Apple Watch Series 9, brighter up to 2000 nits and equipped with the Double Tap function to answer and end a call. Double Tap uses slight movements in the hand and wrist to perform a function.

Coming soon, the iPhone 15 Pro.
