New information channel for migrants heading to the United States

There is a new information channel on procedures and visas, regulations or immigration policies, for those migrants or not who intend to settle in the United States, according to a Latin diplomatic office.

The United States Embassy in Colombia announced the creation of a new information channel through WhatsApp, designed to provide accurate and reliable information about the migration process to the United States.

This channel, officially launched on Monday, August 26, 2024, is operated by “Migración USA” and is a source verified by the US Government.

The aim of this channel, according to information released in the press, is to offer those interested in emigrating a safe and legitimate guide on how to carry out the process legally, thus avoiding falling into the hands of scammers who exploit people’s aspirations.

Through this means, users will be able to stay informed about updates and legal avenues to enter U.S. soil, thus reducing the risks associated with misinformation and immigration fraud, they said.

Truthful information for migrants heading to the United States

The Embassy reiterated information to migrants heading to the United States: “Do not be fooled by scammers, make sure you receive reliable information directly from us, get accurate and reliable updates directly from the ‘Migración USA’ Channel, learn about the legal ways to enter the U.S. safely and legitimately.”

They explained that there are two ways to join the US Embassy’s information channel. The first is through the following link: and the second is by scanning a QR code.

The consular office concluded: “Please share this channel with your family and friends who are considering migrating to the U.S.”
