New incident for Thalys: a train heading to Brussels remains stationary for several hours, “some people felt unwell”

The high-speed train service has had a complicated week. Between passengers stranded for several hours in the heat waveor 800 others forced to spend the night in a wagon, the summer has not been easy for Thalys.

“This is certainly not the level of service that we want to offer our customers”, also apologized to its CEO, Jacques Damas, on Tuesday. No luck since no less than a day later, his business experienced new problems.

As reported by our colleagues from Het Laatste Nieuws, a train was once more stopped for several hours in Schipol, in the Netherlands. While the passengers were to go to Brussels, one of them recounts the ordeal suffered. “After regarding twenty minutes, we felt that the temperature rose very strongly, since the air conditioning was no longer working. We saw some people feeling unwell”.

The Thalys finally had to change direction and arrived in… Rotterdam around midnight.
