The Houston Rockets have found a new coach. Ironically, Ime Udoka (45) will do that in the coming season NBA-Team train.
Udoka was kicked out of the Boston Celtics following sex troubles at the end of September! The trainer is said to have had “intimate relationships” with an employee. According to the official reasoning, internal relationships with the Celtics are taboo. That’s why Udoka had to go.
NBA: Udoka lost job and family
The relationship also had private consequences for Udoka: Officially, the trainer was in a relationship with the US actress Nia Long (51, including NAVY CIS) and has an 11-year-old son with her. It was then announced in December that Long had split up due to her fiancé’s infidelity.
The coach had just started his second season with the Celtics. He led the Boston team to the NBA finals last season. There, however, they lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games.
“I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization and my family for letting them down,” he wrote at the time. “I’m sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not comment further.”
So for Udoka it goes on in the table cellar of the NBA. The Houston Rockets have missed by miles this season. In regular time they lost a whopping 60 out of 82 games! Therefore, two weeks ago, the Rockets threw out coach Stephen Silas (49), who had coached the team since 2020.
Due to the weak season, however, the Rockets have chances of child prodigy Victor Wembanyama (19). The NBA lottery on May 16 will decide whether Houston really gets the first pick in the NBA draft. The Rockets have a 14 percent chance of getting the 1st pick.
