Temperatures will rise significantly in the middle of the week, locally reaching 34 degrees.
The weekend was particularly mild in French-speaking Switzerland. Pleasant even, thanks to the reign of a weak to moderate wind on the Plateau and the Jura, which will have made it possible to limit the rise in temperatures.
According MeteoSwiss, Monday will follow this trend with values between 27 and 28 degrees in the plain and up to 30 in Valais. If they are hot, they are considered “normal” for the season.
While the wind will weaken on Tuesday, the thermometer will already show 30 degrees in places on the Plateau and in the Geneva region. And it is from Wednesday that we “will enter a scorching period”, explains the MeteoSwiss bulletin.
Maximums of up to 34 degrees will be in place between Wednesday and Saturday on the French-speaking Plateau and around Lake Geneva. 35 degrees should be exceeded in Valais. Note that this period will not necessarily be characterized by blue skies. It will therefore be necessary to expect cloudy periods between Thursday and Friday. Thunderstorms cannot be ruled out locally.
