New Hearthstone Expansion: Voyage to the Sunken City Launches

The latest expansion pack for Blizzard Entertainment’s free digital card game Hearthstone, ‘Voyage to the Sunken City’, was released on the 13th.

The Year of the Hydra rises in Hearthstone as embarks on an undersea expedition to the ruins of the ancient city of Jin-Azshari. The 135 new cards introduced by ‘Sailing to the Sunken City’ contain allies and enemies that smell of the sea, as well as animals of various sizes and appetites.

In ‘Sailing to the Sunken City’, legendary minions of the Colossal, which are always summoned with terrifying attachments, appear for each class. With the new keyword Dredge, you can pick one of three cards from the bottom of your deck, put it on top, and draw it next time, making it easier to find the minions you need. The new Azshara cards can also send powerful sunken treasures to the bottom of the deck, creating excellent synergy with salvage.

Debuting in Voyage to the Sunken City, a race of spell-focused minions, the Naga, often offer bonuses for casting one or more spells while in hand. The naga minion race also applies to previously released naga characters, such as the Angryscale Naga and the Naga Sand Witch.

Various changes have been made to the core set, which anyone can obtain for free by leveling up. Among the existing core sets, 57 cards are removed and 72 cards partially adjusted to the latest meta are included, making the overall core set compared to last year. It consists of a total of 250 cards, increased by 15 cards.

Among the new core set cards worth noting are members of the original League of Explorers, including Reno Jackson, Brann Bronzebeard, Ellis Starseeker, and Sir Finley Mrrgleton. Cards such as Voidwalker, Mad Pyromancer, Acolyte of Pain, Mossy Giant, Cloaked Huntress, and Fandral Staghelm are also returning to the core set.
