This is the first teaser of the fifth-generation Lexus RX crossover, which is scheduled to premiere on June 1. And although this announcement was unexpected, the evolution of the model is going according to plan, because the fourth-generation crossover has been in service for seven years: the current RX debuted in 2015 and underwent a planned restyling in 2019
Alas, there is no reliable information regarding the future of R-X yet. The company only promises that the design of the machine will be significantly changed, and logic suggests that the GA-K modular platform (TNGA architecture) will form the basis. The range is expected to include an initial petrol version, a hybrid variant and (for the first time) a plug-in hybrid. Moreover, instead of the aspirated V6 3.5, a 2.4 turbo four will appear under the hood – such castling has already happened in the crossover Toyota Highlander. But the elongated Lexus RX L will not pass into the new generation: a separate model will take its place Lexus TX with three rows, although its debut will not take place until 2023.
