In particular, the registrations of new businesses of all legal forms amounted to 2,800, while 718 businesses were deleted. In the first quarter of 2023, respectively, 2,466 businesses were registered and 706 were deleted.
Based on these data, the positive balance of registrations – deletions appears strengthened, compared to the first quarter of 2023, reaching 2,082, from 1,760 respectively.
X-ray
The strongest increase, of the order of 50% compared to the first quarter of 2023, is shown by the balance of registrations – deletions in the category of Sole Proprietorships, reaching 498 compared to 256 in the corresponding period last year, while the EU categories follow. and O.E.
Positive, although slightly reduced, is the balance of registrations – deletions of companies in the form of S.A. In particular, in the first quarter of 2024, 255 SAs were registered. and 101 were deleted, with the positive balance amounting to 154, compared to 184 in Q1 2023.

The president of EBEA, Mrs. Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, said: “In a difficult period internationally, Greek businesses continue to strengthen their resilience and implement new projects. The trend, resulting from GEMI’s data, remains positive, but we are not complacent. In a period, in which the big bet is the productive transformation of the Greek economy, the goal is to create not only more, but also stronger and more dynamic companies, with an extroverted orientation and international competitiveness. This effort requires the effective utilization of available European resources, the mobilization of quality investments, the support of innovative and start-up entrepreneurship, as well as the promotion of reforms that improve the competitiveness of both the economy and businesses. The possibilities are there. It’s time to aim higher.”
