Razer today introduced a new gaming headset, the Kraken V4 Pro. This has a special feature because it heralds the launch of Razer Sensa HD Haptics. This is a technique for haptic feedback. Vibration motors are integrated into the headphones. If the respective game has been tuned for Sensa, these can provide individual vibration patterns, e.g. B. turn out differently for each special attack.
Even if a game doesn’t explicitly support Sensa, more general support can be enabled. Sensa then converts the frequency range selected by the player into vibrations. This also works with music and videos. The whole thing can be configured in the companion app Synapse 4. Games such as “Silent Hill 2”, “Final Fantasy XVI” and “Hogwarts Legacy” are specially adapted for Razer Sensa HD Haptics.
Another special feature of the Razer Kraken V4 Pro is the included OLED Control Hub. This integrates an OLED display for further setting options. It’s even possible to set up your own images and animations for him. Up to three sources can be kept connected in parallel. There are ports for two USB-C and 3.5 mm audio. Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz via Razer HyperSpeed Wireless are also supported.
The Razer Kraken V4 Pro is of course compatible with PCs, but also game consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch. It uses 40mm drivers and also provides virtual 7.1 surround sound via THX Spatial Audio. The microphone is known with HyperClear Super Wideband from the BlackShark V2 Pro. It can also be completely retracted. The Razer Chroma RGB lighting is also included.
In Germany, the Razer Kraken V4 Pro costs 449.99 euros and is available in stores now. This is definitely a gaming headset in the upper price range.
