They have developed a process that makes it possible to create green hydrogen from panels attached to the roofs of homes.
Their names are Johan Martens, Tom Bosserez and Jan Rongé, they are all three researchers within the KULeuven and might well fundamentally upset the world of automobile transport in the relatively near future. All thanks to a revolutionary invention that would make green hydrogen from sunlight and air.
The European Patent Office (EPO) has named the three scientists as finalists for the 2022 European Inventor Award – a kind of Europe-wide Lépine competition – for their pioneering work on a hydrogen solar panel capable of transforming light sunlight and water vapor into hydrogen gas, without the use of rare metals or additional water. The results of the competition will be announced on June 21.
