Bruno Le Maire had announced the introduction of new fuel aid. This Wednesday, July 6, Elisabeth Borne has largely addressed the subject. The Prime Minister confirmed the government’s desire to put in place specific aid for French people forced to take their vehicle to work.
A boost which will have to apply “depending on the level of income”, and the amount of which will be decided after debate with parliamentarians. Invited on Europe 1 this Thursday, July 7, the Minister of the Economy provided some new details on the terms of this boost.
Online procedure
Since the allowance will be calculated according to income, the registration to claim it will be done on the internet, via the site of the general direction of public finances, specifies the Minister of the Economy. Eligible French people will be able to receive “almost all of their fuel costs”, indicates Bruno Le Maire.

Implementation from October 1
One aid chasing another, the arrival of this fuel allowance should take precedence over the discount of 18 cents per liter at the pump. Its launch is set for October 1. “Peak inflation is expected to decline by 2023. We now need to move on to temporary and targeted measures: supporting those who work“, said Bruno Le Maire.
According to information from Le Parisien, approximately 11 million households, i.e. those receiving up to approximately €1,600 net per month, which corresponds to half of the poorest French people, could benefit from this system. But this remains to be confirmed.
The device is part of the bill for purchasing power, which is presented this Thursday in the Council of Ministers.
