New Florida program helps you with up to $25,000 to buy your first home | Univision 23 Miami WLTV

A new program from the state of Florida, helps professionals buy their first home.

“This is a hundred million dollar program that will provide down payment and closing cost assistance to more than 50 different professions, when buying their first home,” said the Governor of Florida

The initiative called ‘Florida Hometown Heroes Housing’, starts June 1st and there are 1,000 lenders that are part of this program.

However, the recipients are nothing more for certain professionals, “to support the people in our communities who support us, and that means the people who wear the uniform,” said Ron DeSantis.

To qualify for this program, individuals must have a credit score of 640 or more, have the certification of your profession and have an average income to the county in which you reside.

The program grants up to 5% of the amount of the mortgage loan, which can be up to a maximum of $25,000 that they can use for a down payment or closing costs.

  • Anesthesiologists.
  • dentists.
  • vets.
  • Law officers.
  • 911 operators.
  • Firemen.
  • paramedics
  • Emergency medical technicians.
  • teachers.
  • School psychologists.
  • Registered nurses.
  • Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Home health aides.
  • masseuses
  • Active military who move to Florida.
  • Surviving spouses of deceased veterans.
