The charter airline Andes Líneas Aéreas announced new flights to Cuba for the winter season on the island, to a tourist destination. With this news, the island is once again connected with a country of great importance for Latin American tourism that reaches Cuban hotels.
According to the specialized media Aviacionline, Andes Líneas Aéreas announced the resumption of its vacation charter flights to connect Buenos Aires with tourist destinations in high demand such as Cayo Largo del Sur, in Cuba, and Porto Seguro, in Brazil.
These services will be available during the 2024/25 southern summer season, in alliance with the Multitravel travel agency, they noted.
The flights will take place between January and mid-March 2025, offering a weekly frequency to each destination.
Andes will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft for these operations, which will provide a total of 2,079 seats on each route.
This news marks a significant return for the airline in the field of vacation charter flights, a sector in which it had a large participation before the pandemic, operating routes to destinations such as Varadero, La Romana, Margarita Island and Florianópolis, among others.
New flights to Cuba from Argentina in January with Andes Líneas Aéreas
The route to Cuba takes on additional importance, since Buenos Aires and the Caribbean island will be connected again after, in April 2024, Cubana de Aviación suspended its weekly flights due to fuel supply problems.
Aerolíneas Argentinas also previously ceased its flights to Cuba for reasons of economic viability.
Now, Andes will cover this route with an intermediate stopover and will offer a weekly flight from January 2 to March 28, 2025, according to the aforementioned media.
Tour packages to Cayo Largo del Sur are marketed by Havanatur and Multitravel, and present various hotel options, with prices starting at 1,600 USD per person based on a double occupancy.
