New equipment and furniture strengthen primary care for more than 4,000 patients at USF Tarumandy Luque

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Health reports that in order to strengthen primary care in the city of Luque, the Tarumandy Family Health Unit (USF) received biomedical equipment and furniture, for an investment of G. 250 million from Itaipú Binacional, through the Tesãi Foundation.

The investment aims to strengthen the response capacity of USF Tarumandy, which provides basic services to nearly 5,000 people. Some of the care provided comes from the Expanded Immunization Program PAI (vaccination), National Program of Comprehensive Care for Children and Adolescents PANI (nutrition), care for tuberculosis cases and rapid tests.

The new equipment includes scales with stadiometer, defibrillator, ambu, pulse oximeter, otoscope, sphygmomanometer, glucometer and vaginal speculum, which will allow USF to substantially improve care in the pre-consultation and medical office areas.

The delivery represents an important advance in improving the quality of life of the area’s inhabitants, by guaranteeing more efficient and timely access to essential health services.

USF Tarumandy provides care for medical consultations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings; On Tuesdays and Thursdays, home visits are made and from Monday to Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., night care.
