A new trend in automotive mobility, electric cars are experiencing a boom unprecedented. Lausanne is no exception to this reality. This is how the four double terminals installed in 2019 on the Lausanne public domain have seen their attendance increase, to the point of exceeding forecasts.

To respond to this exponential increase, the City will install new charging stations for motorists who rent and carry parking badges as well as for 100% electric vehicles. From Maupas to Malley, via Valency, Sous-Gare, Ouchy, La Borde and even Bellevaux, fourteen districts are concerned. The inhabitants of the rue de l’Ecole-de-Commerce will be among the first to benefit, from June 19, from this new service.

Between 55 and 65 ct/kWh

At the same time, the Industrial Services of Lausanne offer a service to equip car parks under construction with charging stations. “The rates will be among the lowest in the region, between 55 and 65 ct/kWh depending on the schedule and depending on the speed of the recharge,” the City announced on Friday. As for the occupancy tax, it is payable and limited to two hours, Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 8 pm.

“Mobility is responsible for more than 20% of direct greenhouse gas emissions in Lausanne. As part of its Climate Plan, the Municipality is aiming for a city without thermal vehicles by 2030”, recalled the authorities of the Vaud capital.
