Asuncion, IP Agency.- This Wednesday, the 15th edition of the Paraguay-Brazil Expo was launched. It will take place on November 7 and 8 at the Conmebol Convention Center, under the motto “Women in the Business World,” with the main objective of promoting commercial collaboration between both countries.
During the event, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), Javier Giménez, highlighted the importance of this event for the creation of businesses, generation of opportunities and bilateral relations between both neighboring nations.
The exhibition, which has been running in the country for 15 years, seeks to promote commercial collaboration between Paraguay and Brazil, while also strengthening cultural and tourist exchanges between both nations.
The launch event was also attended by the Vice Minister of Rediex, Rodrigo Maluff; the Brazilian ambassador to Paraguay, Antonio Marcondes de Carvalho; the head of the Paraguay-Brazil Chamber of Commerce, Junio Dantas, among other national authorities and representatives of the private sector.
Giménez also stressed that the event not only strengthens trade relations between Paraguay and Brazil, but is also a reflection of the cultural and economic integration between the two nations.
“The Expo has already earned its name, its tradition, and is the ideal setting for creating opportunities, for our companies to prosper, generate employment, investment and, ultimately, the development that our country needs,” he said.
Expectation of USD 200 million in new business
The Secretary of State stressed the opportunity to generate new business, which is the main objective of this exhibition. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the fair will feature some 600 local and Brazilian companies and will have an expected business turnover of USD 200 million. In addition, there will be 131 stands and some 150 exhibitors.
“With all those people involved in the economy and the business opportunity, if at least 50 of those people are encouraged to start their own business, we could be talking about the creation of up to 5,000 new jobs, which is a great contribution to our country,” said Giménez.
In turn, the president of the Paraguay-Brazil Chamber of Commerce, Junio Dantas, said that this year the event will focus on women’s participation in business and will include various cultural activities and conferences. He also highlighted that women contribute 53 percent of the Paraguayan economy.
This edition will therefore be historic, marking the first international business meeting celebrating the role of women in the business world. As for Brazil, 47% of business ventures are supported by women.
Entrepreneurs and businessmen
On the other hand, Minister Giménez spoke about the Rediex Invest Forum 2024, which will offer talks dedicated to businessmen and entrepreneurs where key topics will be discussed such as the country presentation, opportunities, impact of the investment grade and investment incentive tools.
“This is something that has never been done before and is vital to demonstrate the benefits and opportunities within reach of all those people who have the desire to launch or grow their businesses,” he said.
